The 1-kilo Australian Koala silver bullion coin is a rare and limited-edition coin struck from 99.99% pure silver. Every year, the Perth Mint creates a new endearing design of Australia’s most beloved marsupial for the coin.

2008-2010

From 2008 to 2010, the obverse side of the Australian Koala silver bullion coin included the "Year of Issue."

Then, in 2011, the Perth Mint removed the date from the obverse side and began to inscribe the coins' "Year of Issue" on the reverse side of the silver bullion coin.

The 2023 Australian Koala Silver bullion coin portrays the profile of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark.

Reverse

The reverse side of the 2023 Australian Koala Silver bullion coin shows a koala climbing a tree with a dependent young ‘joey’ clinging to its back, designed by Ing Ing Jong.

The Edge on the 1 kilo. silver investment coin is Reeded.

Note:  The Micro-Laser-Engraved security "letter" is an authentication feature that is hard to see with the naked eye but easier to detect under a magnifying glass. The micro-engraved "letter" is designed to make the bullion coin more difficult to counterfeit.
